Hahaha, you have to define evil. That is where I think Aristotle was sorta a fail. Nice attempt though. The enthymeme Romney deployed here was to play on selective memory...that the US was borrowing cash to maintain defense spending in the first place.
Interesting use of ethos when Romney goes on about blaming the white house, the president, the republicans for their big mistake on defense cuts. Who is he to point the finger and spread the blame?
I wonder if Romney actually understands how much the US spends on defense compared to the rest of the world? Well I looked it up, and this is what I found: The US spent $663,255,000,000 on defense in the year 2010 according to the Economist. That is equal to how much the next 17 countries on the list of military expenditures spent. I don't know if Romney was attempting to use some form of Logos when talking about this subject, but it appeared more delusional to me. Is Romney seriously worried that the United States does not spend enough on defense when we are having enough trouble stimulating the job market?
Yeah we spend billions on military, yet the front line soldier has crap equipment. Who is actually getting this money? Halliburton, and other Bush/Cheney companies that have made themselves contract holders. Pathetic that money is being spent, and soldiers are still dying.
This is an obvious movement in the form of pathos. Don't get me wrong, I don't think our soldiers should have to die, because I do not think that fighting in any capacity is rational, but I digress. This entire article is about "Saving our troops," and dying troops is enough to make anyone sad, but this points the finger at Obama and says that this is the reason you are said, he is killing the troops. Obvious emotional implications.
I understand what you mean...its the 'save our troops' feel, but again, I have talked to many front line soldiers, Marine snipers, etc. the money isn't always going to them. I wouldn't want to be on the front line with crap equipment. How much of the money is being spent on funding Blackwater agents?
